At the beginning of September, the construction of two temporary pump installations started at the water purification plant in the Latvian capital, Riga. This water purification plant is being completely renovated, partly thanks to a financial contribution from the EU. The Eekels TPI ensures that during the renovation of the return sludge pumping station the return sludge processing continues.
TPI composition
One of the temporary pump installations is equipped with two Hidrostal I16K pumps with a total capacity of 5,000 m3/hour, which are installed in the return sludge pumping station – a screw pump. The second TPI, consisting of three Hidrostal F10K pumps with a total capacity of 2,000 m3/hour, is installed in one of the water purification plant’s sludge channels. Both TPIs are controlled by PLC-operated frequency controls. The power supply comes from the return sludge pumping station. It is expected that the renovation of the return sludge pumping station will take about eight weeks.
