Rental job: sewer renewal Waalwijk

Eekels started constructing a temporary pumping installation (TPI) in Waalwijk in late August, which about seven weeks will serve for as a bypass for the main sewer, which will be replaced in this period. The Waalwijk municipality has commissioned the replacement of the main sewer by a separated sewer system. During the work, wastewater has to be by-pass pumped almost 300 metres away so that the discharge flow is ensured.
Above ground piping
The client set very stringent requirement in terms of working safely and limiting the inconvenience to residents and traffic. For example, the TPI could not obstruct access to adjacent properties, while traffic on a through road could also not be obstructed. For that reason, 200 metres of above ground piping was placed at a height of 2.50 metres so that access to gardens and front doors was not obstructed. At the through road site the pipe height was increased to 4.50 metres, allowing unhindered traffic movement under the pipe. The TPI is expected be in operation until the end of October.
